Talent Acquisition Team, May Institute is Hiring a Senior Vice President of Finance Near Randolph, MA

Senior Vice President of Finance May Institute, Inc seeks an experienced financial executive for the role of SVP of Finance who will assume the Treasurer/CFO position within a brief time frame due to an impending retirement. Initially reporting to the CFO, the SVP of Finance will be responsible for all facets of the Finance Department, including general accounting, accounts payable, purchasing, accounts receivable, financial reporting and analysis, and budgeting. As Treasurer/CFO, responsibilities will also include supervising the Facilities and IT departments and will report directly to the President and CEO. This position requires participation with the Board of Directors and Finance Committee and includes financial presentations to the Board and preparing financial reports and documents. Nonprofit industry experience would be very beneficial, but not required. The ideal candidate is a knowledgeable, finance professional who can provide expert business and financial oversight. It is critical that the person moving into this role has good communication skills and can work in a collaborative environment with employees at all levels of the organization. Qualifications:20 years of accounting and finance experience, with at least 10 years in a leadership role or Director level.Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is requiredNon-Profit experience helpful, but not requiredUnderstanding of regulatory reporting requirementsDemonstrated leadership, interpersonal, presentation, and organizational skillsAbility to handle multiple projects/tasks, prioritize work and meet deadlinesStrong problem-solving and decision-making skillsDemonstrated effectiveness in written and verbal communicationStrong presentation skillsExpert level proficiency with accounting and finance systemsAbility to be flexible, self-directed, motivated, and interact with employees at all levelsCapable of compiling and analyzing data to guide strategic decisions and planningKnowledge of financial analysis and financial software toolsStrong creative skills to develop new and innovative solutions (ability to think outside the box)Ability to create and deliver unbiased budget expectations for different departments/programsAbility to read contracts and understand the implications of the contracts on both a cash basis and an accrual basis Responsibilities:Coordinate development of annual operating, capital, and program budgets, as well as reporting for the sameEnsure cash flow is compatible with operations by overseeing day-to-day accounting, recording, reporting, and internal-control activities of the organizationMaintain relationship(s) with financial institutions and auditorsDevelop and implement best practices and tools to ensure a well-controlled yet flexible organization that has strong fiscal management, project coordination, cross-team communications, and workflowsComply with all national, state, and local financial requirements by studying existing and new legislation and taking appropriate actionWork with senior managers to efficiently develop budget proposals, provide access to project finance information, and ensure contract/grant compliance and reportingEnsure financial reports are accurate and distributed on a timely basis.Research revenue opportunities and economic trends, analyze internal operations, and identify areas for cost reduction and process enhancementPerform risk management through analysis of company liabilities and investments, and evaluate and manage capital structure and fundraising initiativesResponsible for P&C and liability insurance programsMonitor business performance with tracking tools, establish corrective measures as needed, and prepare detailed reports for the management team, and the rest of organization, including financial statements and forecasts.Manage finance personnel and oversee financial IT systems, ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory entities (ex: Financial Accounting Standards Board, state funding agencies, etc)Analysis of M & A opportunities as they arise
